Activision invests on indie games

With a very forward-looking strategy designed to locate and select the new talent, Activision has invested $ 250,000 in prizes for indie developers to Independent Games Competition.

The publisher has announced the winner of the first round of the contest, offering 175,000 dollars to Peter Dstroyd for the RTS Angstadt and 75,000 dollars to Engient to Rigonauts: Broadside, title based on the fighting between vehicles.

The developers in question will use the money to expand their ideas.

The second phase of the contest will see other 250,000 dollars up for grabs and the details will be circulated shortly. The hope, of course, that this time the initiative is not only open to developers, but that it also broadens the European territory.
