Silent Hill: Downpour

Passed by the almost total anonymity from light Tan stage, the modern Cinderella of the software house is facing its realization of PICT Konami eighth chapter of one of the most famous horror series (we are talking about the distant 1999 Playstation One), terrifying and appreciated appeared on consoles: we are obviously talking about the next incarnation of Silent Hill, Downpour.


What awaits the kids of Vatra, enlisted by Konami in replacement of the English of Climax, not exactly the task from "last arrived": return the series to the much longed-for original, dusting off the fasti attic that dimension psychological horror and irrational lost progressively over the years in favor of a mechanical rhythms pi action, a task that would discourage even the most tried and tested software house.


In this respect, a deep furrow Downpour track with the most recent productions, ideally those distressing pole atmospheres that have characterized the steps of Harry Mason or even more sick and disturbed by James Sunderland.


Doing the honors this time toccher to Murphy Pendleton, a young inmate with a mysterious past who, at the beginning of the adventure, sits silent in a bus transfer to the prison. Murphy's trip intended to terminate abruptly due to an accident that sends the vehicle goes off the road: our hero is free and therefore unexpectedly, immersed in a thick Bush joke by a copious rain, decides to move to the nearby town of Silent Hill.


Liquidated the excellent intro, we find ourselves in the heart of a treacherous and disturbing, teeming with crackles and threatening noises in an attempt to get us to the heart of the city. Since these first beats we can appreciate the introduction of the item in the rain (Downpour, in Italian, means shower) as a new element characteristic of the terrible American citizen: the fog that had characterized the previous chapters is replaced by an exhausting and destructive thunderstorm, which descends relentlessly on the streets of Silent Hill, almost wanting to erase the horrible secrets.


The climatic conditions of this gloomy Theatre does not represent the only relevant news: map in hand, we notice that much of the gameplay is snoder inside the area southeast of the city remained unexplored in previous chapters line. The lack of historical locations such as Alchemilla hospital and the elementary school (confirmed recently by Konami) is offset by the introduction of new sets.


For example, the Woods and the subsoil of Silent Hill and hills that surround it, resemble the environments of Alan Wake (Metro, as well as strategic fulcrum to move with regulatory compliance from one place to another). The system maps, again, is crucial to find meandering narrow an area wide and articulated.


Particularly interesting approach "open world" of Downpour, which we have been experimenting in the first phase of demo: developers have tried to make as clear as possible the pi component explorative, providing more valid paths to achieve a particular goal.
